Privacy Policy

for Run Kitty.

What the game stores, what our ad and analytics partners collect, and the choices you have. Written in plain language, with no account needed to play.

The short version

Play without an account. Your progress stays on your phone.

01

Who we are

Run Kitty is made by Workbench Entertainment, a game studio based in Skopje, North Macedonia (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Run Kitty app for Android (package name com.workbench.runkitty). For data protection laws, we are the controller of the data described here.

Questions? Write to contact@workbench-ent.com.

02

What the game stores on your phone

To keep your progress, the game saves a small amount of data on your device only:

  • the number of fish you have collected;
  • the outfits you have bought and are wearing;
  • your best distance;
  • your music and sound-effect volume.

This data is not sent to us. It is deleted when you uninstall the game or clear its data in Android settings.

03

What is collected when you play

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location. The services built into the game (see the next section) collect:

  • Device identifiers: your Android advertising ID and an app instance ID created by Firebase.
  • Device and app information: device model, Android version, language, app version, and approximate location (country or city) derived from your IP address.
  • Gameplay events: when the app opens, when a run starts and ends (distance and fish collected, and whether it was a new record), which in-game outfits are bought with fish, when an ad is watched, and whether EEA/UK privacy rules apply on your device.
  • Ad information: which ads are shown and whether you interact with them, plus diagnostic data such as crashes and performance.

All purchases in the shop use in-game fish only. The game has no real-money purchases.

04

Services we use

Advertising

Google AdMob

Shows the optional rewarded ad (“watch an ad to double your fish”) and an occasional full-screen ad between runs. Ad content is limited to Google’s G rating (suitable for all ages). AdMob may use the data above to show and measure ads and, outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland, to personalise them. Players in the EEA, UK and Switzerland only see non-personalised ads.

How Google uses data from apps that use its services

Analytics

Google Analytics for Firebase

Tells us how far players get, which outfits are popular and how ads affect play, so we can improve the game. Our AdMob and Firebase accounts are linked, so ad earnings can be measured alongside gameplay. Google Ads may use this data to measure our own ad campaigns for Run Kitty.

Privacy and security in Firebase

Ad measurement

Meta app events (Facebook)

Outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland, the game tells Meta Platforms when it is installed and opened and when you reach milestones (your first run, 5 and 20 runs, 500 m, ads watched, outfits bought with fish), together with your advertising ID and basic device information. This lets us measure and improve our own Run Kitty ads on Facebook and Instagram. We switch on Meta’s Limited Data Use setting, and players in the EEA, UK and Switzerland send no data to Meta.

Meta Privacy Policy

Privacy check

Google User Messaging Platform

Checks whether privacy laws such as the GDPR apply where you play. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland it marks your device as possibly under the age of digital consent, so only non-personalised ads are shown and no consent form appears.

Google Privacy Policy

We do not sell your personal information for money. Showing personalised ads may count as “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under some US state laws. Section 06 explains how to opt out.

05

Why we use it

  • To run and fund the game: ads keep Run Kitty free to play.
  • To improve the game: analytics show where players struggle, what they enjoy and what to fix.
  • To measure our advertising: to understand which of our own ads bring players who enjoy the game.
  • To keep the service working and safe: fraud prevention, crash diagnosis and security.

For players in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, we treat every player as possibly under the local age of digital consent: ads are never personalised and no data is sent to Meta. We rely on our legitimate interests for non-personalised ads, basic analytics, security and fraud prevention.

06

Your choices

  • Read this policy in the game: tap Privacy policy on the game’s start screen at any time.
  • Turn off personalised ads or delete your advertising ID: on most Android phones, go to Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Settings → Google → Ads). You will still see ads, but they will not be personalised.
  • Meta ads: you can also review how Meta uses your activity for ads in your Facebook ad preferences.
  • Stop all collection: uninstall the game. This also deletes the progress saved on your phone.
07

How long we keep data

Progress saved on your phone stays there until you uninstall the game or clear its data. Analytics data is kept in Google Analytics for the retention period set in our account, no longer than 14 months, and is then deleted automatically; reports we build from it contain only totals. Google and Meta keep advertising data according to their own policies, linked above.

08

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to opt out of targeted advertising.

Because we don’t know who you are, the easiest way to delete everything is to reset your advertising ID and uninstall the game. You can also email us. To help us find analytics data from your device, we may ask for details such as your device model and the dates you played. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In North Macedonia that is the Personal Data Protection Agency.

09

Children

Run Kitty is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the game and data was collected, contact us and we will help delete it. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, where the age of digital consent can be up to 16, every player gets non-personalised ads only and no data is sent to Meta.

10

Where data goes

Google and Meta may process the data described here in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves the EEA or UK, they use approved safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Data is sent over encrypted connections.

11

Changes to this policy

If the game starts using new services or data in new ways, we will update this page and change the date at the top. For important changes, we will also let players know in the game or in the Google Play listing.
